Residence Renovation in Filothei (148 m2), Attiki, Greece

If we were to give a title to the project we undertook in 2013 as an architectural firm for the renovation of a 148 m2 residence in Filothei, "Seeking the Refined Style” would be fitting. Our aim was to establish in the residence a modern environment that prioritized contemporary design, comfort, and luxury, all while fulfilling the client’s needs.

Through the detailed architectural representation of the residence’s areas, we proceeded with designing the living room and dining room by creating a large, unified space, behind two large sliding balcony doors. However, since the residence is on the ground floor, there is limited natural light coming into the area. To increase brightness and define the boundary between the living room and dining room, we widened these balcony doors and allowed natural light to flow in. 

The autonomous kitchen room has one of its two doors oriented towards the dining area, while the second door faces the entrance of the residence, located at the base of the large hallway that leads to the living-dining area. The WC is formed adjacent to the second entrance of the kitchen.

The main hallway leads to the area where the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are located, which is accessible through a separate entrance from the main hallway. One of the bathrooms is connected to the hallway for shared use, while the other is exclusively designed for the master bedroom.

Throughout the residence renovation project, we utilized natural and artificial lighting to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the residence’s spaces. The interior design features the vertical white surfaces to accentuate the warm palette of the wooden floors, as well as the elegant design of the furniture chosen for the residence’s decor. For the bathroom renovation, we selected Corian material fixtures for their exceptional functionality and hygiene properties, which visually complement the luxurious wall tiles and cold flooring materials, creating a cohesive and stylish ensemble.
