Renovating a house or an apartment is a challenging task that demands composition skills, creativity, and coordination. This was precisely the scenario when our architectural firm undertook the renovation of a 125 m2 residence in Holargos from 2019 to 2020, where the owner’s fondness for classical style beautifully merged with modern aesthetics in a perfectly harmonious blend.
The architectural design aimed to elevate the already well-constructed spaces by meticulously analyzing and enhancing their optimal functionality. The pre-existing sleek lines were optimized, and interventions were made to improve the functional qualities of each room.
When it comes to the interior design aesthetic, we opted for bold chromatic contrasts using natural materials and sturdy furniture, creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere. This approach lightens the heavy classic character of the space, promoting relaxation for the user. Wood and marble were used in an alternating, harmonious manner to form a color and material palette that enhances the overall aesthetics with modern lines, with strategic highlighting of certain points.
During the renovation process of the residence, special attention was given to the lighting design, ensuring that both functionality and aesthetics were taken into account for each room. The design also ensured that the natural light was well-integrated with the lighting sources present in the space.
