Airbnb apartment renovation on Ermou Street, Attiki, Greece
2018-2019
Architectural Representation, Design, Construction, Supervision & Decoration
Renovating a home is a transformative process that enhances the overall quality, look, and functionality of a space. Sophia Emfietzoglou Architect, as an architectural firm, took on the task of renovating the 55 m2 apartment located on Ermou Street. Their scope of work included everything from conceptualization to designing, construction, supervision, and interior design to transform the apartment into a modern and inviting Airbnb accommodation, repurposing it for a new use.
The objective of the renovation design was to craft a space that was not only functional but also comfortable and welcoming for the guests, encompassing all the features that would contribute to an exceptional accommodation experience. With the design, we made certain that each area of the apartment was maximized for the purpose of hosting Airbnb guests and would be distinguished by its outstanding functionality.
The owner of the Airbnb apartment is a foreigner who fell in love with Greece and its natural landscapes’ color palette, which inspired our choices of interior design for the space. The modern aesthetic of the apartment is characterized by bold blue colors that feature prominently in cool components like the walls. These hues romantically accentuate the shades of the sea and the sky, and they are complemented by warm earthy tones in the furniture. By upgrading the space’s aesthetic quality through renovation, we created a welcoming environment that visitors will find instantly familiar.
The space’s shading systems provide complete blockage of external light, offering a sense of isolation from the fast-paced urban environment outside.
